Lima Re-Motor Kits.

****38 Class Re-Motor Kit Now Available***

ModelTorque has developed a new motor kit to replace the existing "pancake" motor in Lima locomotives in HO/OO scale.

These pictures display the MLF-05 Re-Motor Kit for Lima powered locomotives. The Kit contains the replacement motor with the mounting bracket attached to it, and the replacement axle. The replacement axle is a perfectly engineered three tier axle zinc plated for longevity. On the axle is a replacement pinion gear, an additional bearing, and the driven gear that accepts power from the motor. The gears, axle and bearings come pre-lubricated to allow simple installation.

The pictures above show the precision axle (front view and side-cut view) fitted to the existing motor housing, and two pictures of the motor fitting complete and ready to re-install into your chassis.

The MLF-05 is suitable for most "pancake' motored Lima Locomotives. It is a simple fit to Bo-Bo (dual) and Co-Co (triple) wheel arrangements. Wheel varieties from 11mm to 14mm in diameter across all HO/OO wheel widths and types are suitable housings for the MLF-05.
Because it is a replacement of the motor only it has no impact upon other aspects of the locomotive, it is equally comfortable with DCC or conventional powering.

A PRODUCT UPGRADE is now supplied with each MLF-05, now called MLF-05.1. See this information for full details.

The following table gives an accurate overview of some performance aspects of the MLF-05:

It is not our intention here to make comparisons with other products, the media will do that impartially, but feedback we have received from fellow model railroaders may assist you with your purchasing decision. Comments received are as follows:

Vastly improved power.        better slow speed operation.        Somewhat quieter operation.        Starts up hills with a load.        Draws a lot less current.        Really quite fast at full power.        Goes well on my DCC circuit.        Great to see my old S classes running again.        Pulled 15 cars easily up and down my track.        Very pleased.        Having tried one, here is my order for the other 12 Lima locos I have, thank you for a great product.
